Some people just don't hold birthdays,Anniversary or some special days in as high heed as others, some people
have bad memories.There is a Popular quote about this Birthday "The Best way to remember your wifes birthday is to forget it once" Lady Love's are very particular about these Festal Dates :)
There are many websites and Social Networking sites which are more helpful for the clean forget people.
When it comes to ur special one it's unfair to depend on such sites and wish them in a group as everybody does.Making a first wish to them will make them feel special,happy and it tells them how much you care about them.

Note down the dates beside the name so its so simple to remeber when all the names are in same page..(I Usually Follow this Technique)

There is yet another but surer way.Add the DOB in the Hotmail contacts and it keeps reminding afew days in advance of the ensuing birthday.
It is always nice to remember and send a card even to friends on their birthdays
I'm normally not a person to forget the dear one's birthdays. Although I completely rely on my mobile phone where I've saved all the birthdays and anniversaries. I've synced them with outlook calendar and gmail calendar. So, there's quite a few reminders. huh! But yes...I liked your idea of keeping a written memo..I used to keep a list of birthdays celebrated by staff members to send them greetings. And this is how I used to manage them.
@parthasarathi : hotmail is also a good idea but that would be more easy if u stick such a colourful table sheet near to ur desk...
@vaish : Usually I don't forget anybody bday's I use the techinque of the table..it's perfect for noting the collages birthday bash :)

normally I do not forget the date and month of my dear ones birthdays but what I do forget is to keep track of what day it is today... weird
anyways i am going to stick a list on my refrigerator :)
I am so terrible at remembering birthdays! I even forgot my mom's birthday once! This will be helpful for me!

One ritual at the end /beginning of each year is to transfer imp dates to the new calendar in the kitchen :) Now marking them once in the computer calender with reminders and synching it with gadgets is all that needs to be done - its there for eternity or till the computer crashes :)
